Paris Jones

Paris Jones is an organizer, labor educator and policy advocate on a mission to eliminate poverty and empower working people.  As AFSCME’s Associate Director for Education and Leadership Training, Paris is responsible for driving education programs and building the union’s capacity to conduct strategic planning and organizational development programs to support campaigns and membership growth across the country. She began her labor career in 2009 as a political organizer where she supported legislative and electoral campaigns through coalition building, data analytics, field operations, and PAC fundraising. 

Paris also spent 3 years as a States Strategies Manager at the Center on Budget and Policy Priorities. There she coordinated the think tank’s annual state policy conference and developed a hub for state tax and revenue campaign best practices.  Paris led the State Fiscal Policy department’s first ever Racial Equity Leadership Team which shifting the way they conduct policy analysis and its impact on people of color.   

Paris spends her free time traveling and volunteering her skills to help other non-profits in the DC area organize their workplaces. Paris is an alumnus of Howard University and holds a M.S. in Organizational Development from George Mason University. She is a native of Augusta, Ga, and currently resides in Temple Hills, MD.
