There is Still Time to Apply to join the Inaugural Cohort of Emerging Leaders: Apply by January 31st!

Over the past year women have been in the spotlight demanding the right to safety in the workplace through #MeToo, #EnoughIsEnough, and #TimesUp as well as the right to fair wages through #RedforEd and #FightFor15. Women have a long herstory of fighting for worker justice and now more than ever we are leading in these movements.

Applications for the first Emerging Leaders Cohort of Learning and Mentoring will be accepted through January 31, 2019.

WILL Empower is recruiting for a dynamic and diverse cohort of approximately 16-20 women leaders, activists and staff. This leadership development program works with participants to cultivate political voice and enhance organizer sensibilities. Participants will be connected with an intergenerational network of women leaders through gatherings, a mentoring program, and more.

Participants must have between 1-5 years working in worker justice movements doing strategic or political campaigns, policy, communications, research, or organizing. They must be currently working for a worker justice organization including: traditional public and private sector unions, worker centers, and other racial and economic justice organizations where workers’ well-being is central to the mission.

The cohort meets in person for two retreats within a 12-month period. The inaugural gathering will be held April 11- 14, 2019, in the Washington, D.C. area. Applications are due January 31, 2019.
